Maintenance Technicians, Material Handlers, Tool Maker

The Maintenance Technician maintains production and facilities equipment by performing preventive, predictive, project and reactive maintenance services on all UGN machines and equipment as required by individual plant configurations.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide maintenance function Preventive, Predictive, Project & Reactive
2. Communicate required supply of essential spare parts
3. Maintain production and facilities equipment manuals library relating to facility
4. Maintain up to date equipment history
5. Maintain training level to perform adequate maintenance performance

Mechanical Duties and Responsibilities:
• Utilize Proteus computerized maintenance management system for work scheduling, obtaining location and reorder of replacement spare parts and recording work performed for equipment history.
• Observe mechanical devices in operation and use your senses and devices to identify the need for repair maintenance. Collaborate with maintenance staff as needed for correct diagnosis and repair of machines.
• Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.
• Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunctions and detect malfunctions and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair.
• Dismantle equipment to gain access to remove adjust or replace consumable components, or install new or repaired parts in defective machine and/or equipment.
• Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
• Operate testing devices, welders, drill press, grinders, oxy fuel and propane torches, saws to maintain machines and equipment.
• Clean and maintain HVAC and air compressor coils.
• Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears and other parts of machinery. Upon discovery of damaged components replacement may be necessary.
• Clean, lubricate & adjust equipment per scheduled.
• Start devices after repair to test performance.
• Inspect, clean, lubricate, and repair truck loading dock plates to maintain in operational order.
• Replace electric motor bearings and rewire motors.
• Test automated machinery and verify repairs.
• Test and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
• Repair and maintain production facility.

Qualifications:
• Associate degree from a college or technical school; and one plus years related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, procedure and equipment manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively.
• Knowledge of Office applications such as Word, Excel and Internet software.
• May be required to have/obtain licenses to operate powered industrial trucks, boom lifts, scissor lifts, or other types of equipment used to facilitate equipment repairs and accessibility.

The Material Handler performs all driving and related functions in the movement of materials necessary for the operation of the Shipping/Receiving and Manufacturing departments.
Responsibilities:
• Perform pre-start checklist on forklift.
• Load and unload incoming and out-going trucks to meet customer and UGN requirements.
• Verify incoming materials for correctness, quantity and damage and place in designated locations
using FIFO system.
• Using FIFO system, stage orders to be shipped and verify.
• Unload customer returns and rejected materials in designated areas and notify Quality Control.
• Obtain weights on special and UPS shipments.
• Maintain housekeeping in the warehouse, storage areas, and docks, removing and dumping trash
or removing recyclables from these and manufacturing areas as necessary to maintain
housekeeping.
• Using FIFO system, supply manufacturing with raw materials and shipping containers as
required to support production.
• Maintains cleanliness and operation of equipment.
• Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:
• High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED); and one plus months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Forklift truck license; government issued driver’s license required.

The Tool Maker/ Repairer fabricates, modifies and repairs compression mold and trim die tooling at the UGN facility in Monroe, OH.
Responsibilities:
• Set up and operate machine tools such as lathes, drill presses, milling machines, grinders, press brakes and shears to manufacture parts.
• Anneal and temper metal parts; braze, solder and weld metal parts.
• Fit and install precision components in molds and dies; verify dimensions of parts and installation of components.
• Read blueprints of product, die or mold and compute part specifications.
• Plan sequence of machine operations.
• Measure, mark, and scribe metal, wood and plastic stock materials to layout for machining.
• Assemble die or mold as required.
• Perform all duties in a safe and timely manner.
• Maintain a clean work area in accordance with 5-S principles.
• Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:
• Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and six months or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to problem solve and communicate effectively.
• Some technical ability with databases and reporting spreadsheets.

$16/hr plus shift diff for Material Handlers. Maint techs and Tool Maker based on experience between $27-$35/hr and $25-$30/hr respectively
