Teddy Bear Found It’s Way Home
A teddy bear containing a voice message from a woman’s late mother has been found thanks to a celebrity appeal. Mara Soriano’s bear was inside a backpack which was stolen while she was moving. It had a button that allowed her to hear the voice of her mother, who died of cancer last year. Her Twitter appeal gained support from celebrities including actor Ryan Reynolds who offered a $5,000 reward for the bear’s return. Late Tuesday, Soriano received a message from someone claiming to have found the bear. She met with two men in a public place and one of them handed her the bear. They told her that they saw the security footage of the theft, recognized the thief and retrieved it from him.
In times like these, we could all use a good ending to a sad story.

Andrew Whitworth says family member’s lunch meeting led to several COVID-19 cases
I guess the cats outta the bag… yes, ALL the Whitworth’s tested positive for covid + my parents about a month ago. Dad had a really hard time but is slowly getting back on his feet. Begging everyone to take this virus seriously. Wear masks. Protect your loved ones & others😷

“When we say you’re gonna have to make good decisions and you’re gonna have to be careful outside of the building, we’re talking about things as simple as going to lunch with someone,” Whitworth said. “All it takes is one exposure, and that’s the reality and my story is an example of that.”
Whitworth says a family member recently went to lunch with a friend, and a couple days later, that family member started to feel unwell and ended up taking a COVID-19 test.
“Next thing we know, she had it,” Whitworth said. “A couple days later, my wife and I had it. A couple days after that, my kids had it. So we were about 7-for-7 at that point, and then unfortunately, we had just visited my wife’s family, and we were traveling with them as well, and her mom and dad both got it.”
Whitworth said that proved to be the case in this instance as he, his wife and his children ended up being OK — “Everything seemed to go pretty normal, it was a pretty mild case,” he said — but for her parents, it wasn’t that way as his father-in-law was hospitalized.
“Luckily for us … we got him home about four or five days ago and he’s home with us now and we’re very blessed to have him and him be OK,” Whitworth said. “But it was definitely a scary thing and I realized how contagious this really is. It doesn’t take much, and it can spread like wildfire.”
Garth’s Daughter Caught Covid-19
Garth Brooks’ youngest daughter Allie is the member of his team he was referring to when he announced a coronavirus case in his immediate circle earlier this month. The young singer hadn’t been around Brooks and wife Trisha Yearwood recently, but her husband had.
“Her husband works with us every day,” Brooks revealed during a press conference on Wednesday (July 29), “so that was the possible scare. So everybody went and got tested, and everybody tested negative, so we were back up and running pretty quick. She quarantined for another 14 days after her time as well, so she’s feeling great.”
Allie Brooks had a mild case of the coronavirus, her father says. A sore throat was the worst of it, but she did her due diligence and is now safe. That’s not setting her dad’s mind at ease, however.
“Truth is, as a parent, nobody knows what COVID is going to do in the future,” Garth Brooks says. “So you just watch over them, you pray a lot and hopefully she’ll come out of this thing with just that. That would be wonderful.”
