The FDA is investigating Lucky Charms after reports of illness

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is investigating Lucky Charms cereal after dozens of customers complained of illness after eating it. The FDA said Saturday it has received more than 100 complaints related to Lucky Charms so far this year.

“The FDA takes seriously any reports of possible adulteration of a food that may also cause illnesses or injury,” the agency said in a statement.

Several hundred people have also posted on a food safety website, iwaspoisoned.com, complaining of nausea, diarrhea and vomiting after eating Lucky Charms. General Mills Inc., the Minneapolis-based company that makes Lucky Charms, Cheerios and other cereals, said it’s aware of those reports and takes them seriously. But the company said its own investigation has not found any evidence of consumer illness linked to Lucky Charms.

CYCLONES CLINCH PLAYOFF SPOT

10,356 fans packed Heritage Bank Center to see the Cyclones grab a playoff-clinching standings point in their 5-4 shootout loss to the Indy Fuel. Despite the score, the Cyclones secured their berth in the 2022 Kelly Cup Playoffs by collecting the point, while the Kalamazoo Wings fell short of doing so in their 3-0 loss to Toledo.

The Cyclones are 36-31-3-1 with 76 points. They can finish either fourth or third in the Central Division standings, pairing them up to face either the Fort Wayne Komets or Toledo Walleye in the opening round.

UCF Football Ditches Numbers For QR Codes

Last year they put twitter handles on jersey’s. This is a new way to promote the league on social media.  In place of numbers, there will be NIL-based QR codes.

When the QR code is scanned, it will link back to that player’s biography page on the UCF athletics website. They are going to try this out and see how it goes.  They know it will be confusing but they hope the confusion will lead to scans based on curiosity.  The announcers will have the most difficult but the refs should be able to see the number on the front.
