College Basketball Brackets Blow-Up After Saint Peter’s Huge Upset Over Kentucky

In OT, Kentucky took an early 4 point lead, but then Saint Peter’s scored 10 of the next 11 to take a 5 point lead. Kentucky would hit a 3 as they tried to mount a comeback, but just didn’t have enough to outlast Saint Peters and fell 85-79 in a huge upset.  Indiana lost to St. Mary’s 82-53. Davante Adams Has Been Traded To The Las Vegas Raiders

The Green Bay Packers have agreed to trade Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders.  The contract will pay him just over $28 million per year for the next 5 years.

Pete Davidson pulls OUT of flight into outer space on Blue Origin

The 28-year-old Saturday Night Live star was revealed to be one of the six guests aboard the next flight of Jeff Bezos‘ Blue Origin space company.  Blue Origin announced on Twitter Thursday evening that the flight of New Shepard originally scheduled for March 23 will now happen on March 29, and that Davidson will not be aboard.

Texas boy, 13, who was driving dad’s truck when it veered onto wrong side of road and crashed into van full of USW students, killing nine

Ricky Siemens, 13, and his father, Heinrich Siemens, 38, were among the nine people who died in Tuesday’s crash in Andrews, Texas.  NTSB said that the 13-year-old was driving the pickup truck.  This is the second tragedy to befall the family recently. Before Christmas 2021, the boy burned the family house to the ground after he left the stove unattended while cooking some eggs, according to a family friend.  Then sadly the crash happened. Six students from the University of the Southwest and their 26 year-old coach were all killed in the smash.  They were members of the men’s and women’s college golf teams, and had been attending a tournament.  Coach Tyler James, 26, graduated with a master’s degree in May and was said to be working at his ‘dream job’. James was driving the van carrying the eight students when a pickup truck rammed into them Thursday night. Both cars caught on fire.  Also killed in the crash were Laci Stone, 18; Mauricio Sanchez, 19, Travis Garcia, 19, Jackson Zinn, 22, and Tiago Sousa, 18.  Two students, Hayden Underhill and Dayton Price, survived and were airlifted to a hospital.  It’s been reported a spare tire on the truck blew out and caused the 13 year old to lose control.

What the Amazon-MGM deal means for the streaming business

Amazon’s nearly $8.5 billion deal to purchase the film and television studio MGM is official. The two companies announced Wednesday that MGM is now a part of Prime Video and Amazon Studios.  It’s unclear when Amazon Prime subscribers will start to see the full MGM catalog, which includes more than 4,000 film titles and 17,000 TV episodes. Long ago a company called Kerkorian combined UA with MGM in 1981, bringing in the Rocky and Bond franchises, before selling MGM/UA to Ted Turner. Turner quickly sold the studio back but kept the MGM titles made before 1986. Those pre-1986 films, including “Gone With the Wind” and “The Wizard of Oz,” now belong to Warner Bros.
