Costumes inspired by the hit Netflix series Squid Game, primed to be the streamer’s most popular series to date, are trending online. Not only did green-and-white tracksuits become an instant best-seller shortly after the series premiere, but white slip-on Vans saw a 7,800% spike in sales since the show hit Netflix, according to data provided by Sole Supplier. White slip-ons, more broadly, have also seen a 97% uptick in search volume, according to Lyst. [via Variety]

McDonald’s Is Giving Free Breakfast to Teachers

     McDonald’s is showing their appreciation for educators next week by offering free “Thank You Meals” to those who visit in stores or at the drive-thru. These meals will include a free breakfast served in a classic Happy Meal box to help brighten an educator’s day on their way to work.

Throughout the pandemic, frontline workers like those in healthcare and education have stepped up to the plate to deal with our ever-changing world while continuing to excel at their jobs. McDonald’s earlier launched “Thank You Meals” for healthcare personnel, and is now extending the offer to those superstars who work in school settings.

From October 11 to October 15, teachers, administrators, and other school staff can get a free breakfast from McDonald’s when they show their school ID card. To further demonstrate their gratitude, McDonald’s is also encouraging customers to submit stories about teachers who changed their lives on Twitter, TikTok, and Instagram with the hashtag #ThankYouMeal.

Each Thank You meal comes with an entree breakfast sandwich, hash browns, and a beverage. Sandwich options include the Egg McMuffin; Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Biscuit; or the Sausage Biscuit, so you can take your pick at how you want to start your day. Beverage choices include a medium McCafe hot or iced coffee or a medium soft drink. Educators can claim up to one free breakfast meal per day, so take a peek at your local restaurant’s breakfast hours before you make your plans.

THAT ’70S SHOW Is Getting a ’90s-Set Spinoff on Netflix With Red and Kitty

That ’70s Show was never a ratings giant, but it was popular enough to run for eight seasons (200 episodes!) and launch the careers of Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, Laura Prepon, and Topher Grace. Fox even tried to start a That [Fill-In-The-Blank Decade] Show universe with That ’80s Show, starring a pre-It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Glenn Howerton, but it only lasted one season.

Maybe Netflix will have better success with That ’90s Show.

Netflix has given a formal series green light to That ’90s Show, a followup to Bonnie Turner and Terry Turner’s hit That ’70s Show. Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp will anchor the spinoff, reprising their roles as Red Forman and Kitty Forman, respectively. They will executive produce That ’90s Show alongside its creators, That ’70s Show alum Gregg Mettler, who serves as showrunner, Bonnie Turner and Terry Turner and their daughter Lindsay Turner.

The Wisconsin-set show takes place in 1995 and follows Eric (Grace) and Donna’s (Prepon) daughter, Leia, “who is visiting her grandparents for the summer where she bonds with a new generation of Point Place kids under the watchful eye of Kitty and the stern glare of Red. Sex, drugs, and rock ’n roll never dies, it just changes clothes,” the Deadline description reads. So, sex, drugs, and rock ’n roll wears JNCO jeans now?

Outside of Smith and Jo Rupp, no other That ’70s Show cast members have a current agreement to appear in the spinoff, but the expectation is that “a number of them” will.

Gary LeVox Opens Up About the End of Rascal Flatts: ‘I Wasn’t Happy That Joe Don Quit’

Last year, Gary LeVox, Joe Don Rooney and Jay DeMarcus appeared on CBS This Morning and announced that their 20th-anniversary tour would also be the official farewell tour for Rascal Flatts, as each wanted to pursue other creative endeavors. However, the COVID-19 pandemic halted the tour plans, and those Flatts dates were never rescheduled.

Now, in an interview with People, LeVox says there is more to the story and that the band’s breakup was initiated by Rooney.

“I’ve never been okay with the way that it ended,” LeVox told the outlet, adding, “I wasn’t happy that Joe Don quit.”

“It kind of came out of nowhere,” LeVox said. “It was like, ‘Let me try to wrap my head around this.’ And then I certainly wasn’t okay with the pandemic, which canceled everything. I hate the way that it ended. I hate that we didn’t get to do this farewell tour. I can’t stand the fact that it just feels there’s no closure with something that we’ve been so blessed with. That will always be in my heart.”

As the group’s 2020 tour dates were already on hold due to the pandemic, the group disbanded quietly, with LeVox pursuing a solo career and releasing the recent Christian album One on One. Meanwhile, DeMarcus released a tribute to his late father with “Music Man,” and also runs the CCM label Red Street Records.

In August, Rooney joined DeMarcus at the the ACM Honors ceremony to accept the Cliffie Stone Icon Award for Rascal Flatts, though LeVox was not in attendance. Last month, Rooney was charged with a DUI near Nashville. LeVox told People he has not spoken with Rooney since the incident.

“I think God gets your attention in different ways,” LeVox told People. “I just wish him the best and I hope he gets everything that he needs to get well and take care of whatever issues he’s got going on. There’s power in prayer.”

According to LeVox’s official website, he has several solo shows slated through October and November.
