Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger retires after 18 seasons

After 18 seasons as the starting quarterback of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Ben Roethlisberger announced his retirement Thursday morning.

In a video posted to his Twitter account, Roethlisberger announced what became obvious over the final weeks of the 2021 season.

“The journey has been exhilarating, fueled by a spirit of competition,” Roethlisberger said. “Yet the time has come to clean out my locker, hang up my cleats and continue to be all I can be to my wife and children. I retire from football a truly grateful man.”

Crash At Taylor Swift’s House

An obsessed fan crashed his car into Taylor Swift’s apartment building yesterday morning in New York City, severely damaging the front door and endangering passersby. Police responded to a 911 call about a car crash outside of Swift’s home, and they arrived to find the drunken fan. Apparently, the man drove the wrong way down the street outside the building, put his car into reverse, and rammed his vehicle into the building’s front door, striking a nearby fire hydrant. It’s unclear if Taylor was home at the time.

WAYNE’S WORLD: ‘Mirthmobile’ Auctioned for Record $71.5K

Used car prices are going up, even for AMC Pacers.

The custom 1976 Pacer featured in the 1992 comedy “Wayne’s World” was auctioned at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale event on Wednesday for $71,500, a new record for the model.

That’s nearly twice the $37,400 paid for it in 2016, when it was auctioned by “Pawn Stars” host Rick Harrison after he had it fully restored.

The baby blue hatchback nicknamed “The Mirthmobile” still sports the flame decals, mismatched wheels, cup dispenser and ceiling-mounted licorice dispenser it had in the film.

And while it commanded a particularly high price due to its Hollywood provenance, another 1976 Pacer was sold alongside it for $34,100, or about twice the recent going rate for a perfect show car example.

The “Wayne’s World” Pacer sale comes at a significant moment, with the 30th anniversary of the film’s release set to be celebrated on February 14.

Paul Rudd Joins Seth Rogen for Lay’s First Super Bowl Commercial in 17 Years

Seth Rogen’s got and old friend joining him for Lay’s upcoming Super Bowl spot.

Paul Rudd, reigning Sexiest Man Alive, will be appearing alongside his longtime costar and friend in a commercial for the potato chip brand airing during the big game.

It’s a monumental spot for Lays, as it marks their first Super Bowl ad in 17 years. Dubbed the “Golden Memories” campaign, the official in-game commercial will see Rogen and Rudd enjoy “typical best friend activities” — as well as what the brand calls “a few adventures you won’t believe until you see.”

A taste of their fun can be seen in a teaser for the ad.
