Taylor Swift and Gracie Abrams at Lucas Oil Stadium – November 1, 2024 – Review and photos by Nicole Sumpter.
It was sparkling with sequined Eras-themed outfits, and the crowd certainly didn’t want to let the night go after Taylor Swift closed out the first night of her ‘Eras Tour’ stop in Indianapolis. Swift is close to wrapping up her global tour, which started on March 17, 2023. The three-night stop at Indianapolis’ Lucas Oil Stadium marks the end of her US tour, and with only nine dates left in Canada, Swifties are eager to snag tickets to see their idol.
Fans planned their outfits months in advance, picking their favorite era to theme their looks or recreating styles worn by Taylor herself. Gracie Abrams opened the show with her song “Risk.” We knew it was almost time for Taylor to take the stage when the clock and countdown appeared. The record-breaking crowd of 69,000 was deafening.
The audience knew every word of the over three-hour show, which runs through each of Taylor Swift’s albums, or Eras. With multiple costume and set changes, the show moves seamlessly through her discography. During her acoustic set Taylor did a mash up of songs not included in the normal set list. On guitar she performed “The Albatross” from and “Holy Ground”. Then on piano Swift did another mash up of “Cold As You” and “Exile” on the piano
Even though she may have once had to ‘Do it with a broken heart’, it was clear that Swift, her band, and dancers are having fun each night.
