People’s print magazine faces possible closure
People may scrap its weekly print edition as its new owner looks to slash costs — even as writers privately gripe that the magazine’s new editor looks to be an awkward fit for the celebrity-gossip icon, rumer has it. “I think it’s a goner,” one well-placed source said of People’s weekly edition. The source added that execs are instead mulling monthly or quarterly editions, as well as special-themed issues which carry a much higher cover price.
“The new editor doesn’t know what she’s doing. Staff in the editorial meetings are texting each other and rolling their eyes when she talks,” the source added.
“Liz is a very talented editor but she’s not an entertainment editor,” said another insider, who explained that Vaccariello doesn’t have entertainment “contacts” or a sense of what sells celebrity news magazines. “She didn’t know who Channing Tatum was!” said the source. Employees began buzzing about the potential demise of People when a handful of publishing and marketing execs left the company after DotDash took the helm. The source added that there has been a jarring clash between the corporate cultures of Des Moines, Iowa-based Meredith and Diller’s IAC, which is headquartered in New York’s trendy Meatpacking District
The Amber Heard-Johnny Depp Trial Continues
The Amber Heard-Johnny Depp defamation trial continued yesterday with Heard explaining on the stand why she thinks Depp never looks at her during the trial: “Because he’s guilty.”
Depp’s attorney Camille Vasquez presented a photo from the couple’s honeymoon in 2015 that shows him with dark bruises under his eyes. Heard said under cross examination Tuesday: “I’ve seen this picture before, and he’s not injured in it. This one is photoshopped.”
Amber Heard said it was Depp suing her that kept her from fulfilling her pledge to donate her entire $7 million divorce settlement to charity, as she had pledged at the time.
She also said her scenes were cut from Aquaman 2. “I was given a script then given new versions of the script that had taken away scenes that had action in it, that depicted my character and another character, without giving any spoilers away, two characters fighting with one another,” Heard testified. “They basically took a bunch out of my role. They just removed a bunch.” |

Neal told KTHV-TV the town is “losing about 30,000 gallons of water per day” at a daily cost of about $200. The sight of Johnny Cash’s silhouette spraying water onto the ground below has been drawing in tourists to witness the unusual scene. “Just the placement of where it was at, I mean it was — you could tell someone was trying to be funny,” Neal said.
Neal said the water tower previously leaked from a bullet hole in 1993. He said an investigation has been opened into the most recent bullet hole.

Texas 2-Year-Old Buys 30 Cheeseburgers Using Mom’s Phone
Kelsey Golden opened up her door to a DoorDash delivery driver who was dropping off more than 30 McDonald’s cheeseburgers.
The only problem is the Kingsville, Texas mother of three didn’t order them. As it turns out, her toddler did.
“He usually likes to take pictures of himself, and so he was doing that,” said Golden. Instead of snapping selfies, Barrett was placing an order for 31 McDonald’s cheeseburgers to be delivered to his house. Total price? $91.70. Barrett had even given the driver a $16 tip.
Golden was shocked at first, but then laughed about it. She decided to spread the love and offered up the burgers for free on her Facebook page.
