Kentucky Derby champ Rich Strike will not run in Preakness, opts for Belmont Stakes

The chase for the Triple Crown will have to wait another year.

“After very careful consideration, the owner and trainer of Rich Strike felt it was not in the best interest of the horse to run in the Preakness,” a spokesperson for Reed told Yahoo Sports in a statement. “We look forward to returning in the Belmont.”

Live Music Festivals Streaming On Hulu

Hulu – has acquired the exclusive streaming rights to the Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits music festivals through 2023. Subscribers will be able to watch the livestreams at no additional cost, in addition to bonus behind-the-scenes footage. Hulu previously streamed the 2021 Lollapalooza festival. Bonnaroo will take place from June 16-19 in Manchester, Tennessee, with performances from artists including Stevie Nicks, Machine Gun Kelly, The Chicks, Roddy Ricch and J. Cole. Lollapalooza will happen from July 29-31 in Chicago’s Grant Park with a lineup that includes Metallica, Dua Lipa, Green Day, Doja Cat and Jazmine Sullivan. Austin City Limits, which will feature sets from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, P!NK, SZA, Kacey Musgraves, Paramore and Lil Nas X, will take place over the first two weekends in October.

Norm Macdonald left an hour of new material behind for one last special that will hit Netflix ‘soon’

Fans of the late comedian Norm Macdonald will get to see him perform one last time, according to his sister-in-law Joyce Napier.  It’s been Eight months since he died of cancer at the age of 61 following a nine-year battle with leukemia.  Norm’s sister-in-law, a Canadian TV journalist, revealed her husband’s brother secretly recorded a stand-up special.

‘It turns out Norm left an hour of new material behind, recorded in his apartment during the lockdown,’ she wrote. ‘It’ll be a Netflix comedy special soon. ‘So, we have that. Which is precisely what Norm wanted.’  David Spade said the recording ‘definitely’ made him cry as he watched the special alongside Macdonald’s closest friends. I can’t wait to see it.  No word on when it will air on Netflix.

‘Spinal Tap II’ Happening!

As Rob Reiner, Michael McKean, Christopher Guest & Harry Shearer Back For Encore. Spinal Tap II, a sequel to the fabled rock mockumentary This Is Spinal Tap. Reiner directed the original and will direct the sequel.  “The plan is to do a sequel that comes out on the 40th anniversary of the original film and I can tell you hardly a day goes by without someone saying, why don’t you do another one?  It wasn’t until we came up with the right idea. You want to honor the first one and push it a little further with the story.”

The idea for the movie is: “They haven’t spent any time together recently, and that became the premise. The idea was that Ian Faith, who was their manager, he passed away. In reality, Tony Hendra passed away. Ian’s widow inherited a contract that said Spinal Tap owed them one more concert. She was basically going to sue them if they didn’t. All these years and a lot of bad blood we’ll get into and they’re thrown back together and forced to deal with each other and play this concert.”
