MLB Can’t Agree, What About Reds Opening Day?

Major League Baseball is officially canceling opening day and more games beyond it. It’s over a labor dispute.  For the first time in 27 years. The lockout talks collapsed in the hours before management’s deadline.  MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred spoke Monday evening making the news official that regular games will be lost this year.  Essentially, the first week of the season is wiped out and this is very possibly just the beginning. There could be more to come. Fans can also request a refund for tickets to games between March 31 and April 6. Click here to learn more or request a refund. Now for our local Reds Opening Day, everything is on hold.  The Reds want to reschedule the Opening Day Celebration.  Finley Market puts on the parade and they still hope to have a parade sometime in the future. Everything is in the air. Click here for ticket info and update on the parade in Cincinnati.

Cargo Ship Carrying Thousands of Luxury Cars Sinks in the Atlantic

The Felicity Ace sank around 9 a.m. Tuesday about 220 nautical miles off Portugal’s Azores islands after it began to take on water and tilt to one side.

The 60,000-ton merchant ship carrying around 4,000 luxury cars—including models from Porsche, Bentley, Audi, Lamborghini and other Volkswagen AG brands—caught fire in February and burned intensely for days.  SMIT Salvage, the Dutch company charged with salvaging the ship, sent a team of large oceangoing tugboats to the scene and was towing the vessel to safety when it sank.  Salvage crews and the Portuguese navy had said that the intensity of the fire might be explained by a large number of electric vehicles on board.  While the cause of the fire on the Felicity Ace might never be known because the ship is lying at the bottom of the ocean, experts say there is a danger that batteries in electric cars can short circuit and catch fire. The regulations on how to ship electric vehicles will likely change because of this.  Incident insurance experts Russell Group Ltd. estimated that the cargo on board the Felicity Ace was worth about $438 million.

Courteney Cox Sold a House Because of Ghosts

The Friend’s star recently said that after moving into a new house in LA, she wasn’t too concerned about the home’s history even when spooky things began happening.  But other people who would stay there with me, like friends of mine, said they felt an encounter with a woman who was sitting on the edge of the bed.” She went on to say “I was at the house one day not being a believer. The doorbell rang. It was a UPS guy or something, and I opened the door, and he said, ‘Do you know this house is haunted?'” Courteney then said “And I go, ‘Yeah, why? Why do you think that?’ And he goes, ‘Because there is someone standing behind you.’ And I was like, ‘Let’s sell.’”
