Mrs Braunholtz had flown in from Europe with her husband and two children, aged 11 and seven.
She said they were instructed to go to Terminal 5 to get their luggage.
But instead of baggage they saw frozen fish rotating on the conveyor belt.
They thought they were part of a reality show.
Boxes of sea bass and sea bream were delivered to Terminal 5 of Heathrow Airport on Monday
She added some passengers were “irate” at the situation.
They thought their luggage was going to be in a second wave after the fish but it was just box after box of fish,
Mrs Braunholtz believes there were at least 100 boxes of frozen fish on the conveyor belt,
British Airways staff were “perplexed” and did not know how it had happened. Their official comment was:
“We’ve apologized to our customers and we have been reuniting them with their luggage after realizing that something fishy was going on,” it added.
“At some point, one of the people loading these boxes of fish should have thought ‘this can’t be right for Terminal 5’
Eventually passengers were given claim forms and advised to go home. Luggage is being delivered to the passengers.
