Tiger Woods Almost Doubled The Speed Limit

As he approached a curve in the road, he apparently hit the gas instead of the brakes — causing his high-speed rollover crash, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said yesterday. Six weeks after the golf legend suffered serious leg injuries, Sheriff Alex Villanueva said the main causes of the crash were speed and Woods’ inability to negotiate a curve. The SUV reached a speed of up to 87 mph — far greater than the 45 mph speed limit. The sheriff also responded to criticism Woods may have been given special treatment since the incident was quickly dismissed a purely an accident, Villanueva stressing that Woods had no signs of impairment.
