My grandfather was a clown and taught me how to make Balloon Animals. I used to train dogs with my grandma and my daughter is a groomer ( I love to hear Jesse’s stories about Jackson, he also lives near my mom in Deer Park and she has seen him walking Jackson). My favorite part of the afternoon is listening to Jesse and Anna, I know when they come on it’s towards the end of the day and they make me laugh! |
What makes you a BIG B-105 fan? |
I thought I was a big fan until this past weekend my 6-year-old daughter did something to prove that she may be a bigger fan than me. I’ll tell you that story at the end!
Just like most country fans (at least the ones from Cincinnati raised by a country fan) I have been listening to B105 my entire life. I can remember being about 10 years old and taking a family vacation in Arizona and trying to put on Jim Fox and Bubba Bo. My grandma laughed so hard because I didn’t understand then that I couldn’t listen to B105 in Arizona. (Thankfully we have the app now and can listen anywhere!!) Check my email, I have listened through the app for almost 2000 hours and I’m in the top all-time 5% of listeners, and that’s just through the app. We listen in the car, at home, and on the Alexa! My 6-year-old listens to B105 every night as she’s going to bed, this is important context for the story at the end! I have mainly listened in the morning until I started my current job which allows me to listen all day. I run a mental health practice, so I very much enjoy hearing Jesse’s stories about his therapist. I tell my therapists here all of the time they need to call in and talk to him! Over the years I have tried to follow all of the contests and games like high-low and Guess the answer for Chelsie’s College of Hollywood Knowledge. BTW we miss her and would love an update on how she’s doing! I remember when Statt was on with Chris Carr and Maverick before Big Dave and Chelsea started the morning show. I also really miss Amanda saying “Turn your dang headlights on” I can hear her say it every time I see a car without their headlights! I have also really enjoyed watching Ashley grow over the years since she joined the show! My mom is, and my grandma was a very avid listener as well. I know my grandma won many contests back in the 90’s. My mom called in many years ago and did a salute-a soldier (aww that should come back!) and it aired the morning after I’d been in the hospital with my 6-week-old daughter who was admitted and unfortunately, I didn’t get to hear it on my way to work, Luckily she heard it and called me to listen to the replay later that morning. It was so touching and meant so much, especially in that scary moment. (She’s 13 and just fine now!) My mom and I have won a few things too. Getting to meet Luke Combs, Lunch at Skyline with Big Dave, Statt, and Chelsea, and Gift Cards, We so much appreciate all the things we’ve gotten to do with B105! I was also really excited to see Jesse at John Michael Montgomery. My boyfriend had no clue who he was (he listens to 700 WLW) and when I heard his voice I stopped, looked at him, and said is that Jesse? He says who the heck is Jesse? Oh, just the guy I listen to on the radio every day lol! I laughed, cried and we shared our first dance at that concert. I so wish I could have taken my girls to see him. They love his music! Ok, the story of my daughter… Saturday night we are all in the living room watching a movie and we all fall asleep. I wake up around midnight and I’m sending everyone to their beds. My 6-year-old gets up, her eyes are closed and I’m pretty sure she’s sleepwalking and has no clue she’s actually awake. She starts down the hall to her bedroom as I’m gathering blankets and putting pillows back for the next morning, and I hear her sweet little voice say “Alexa, play B105”. I just smiled and if I ever doubted my parenting, in that moment I felt like I was doing something right. The Reds have “Raising a Reds Fan”, and now I’m “Raising a B105 Fan”. Thank you for the entertainment, care, and love that B105 has shown us over the years! |
