The holidays are the perfect time to help us find a forever home for the sweetest strays in the Tri-State.
For 12 days—beginning Thursday, December 1—we’ll share a special rescue animal from Cincinnati Animal CARE Humane Society. Thanks to Grippo’s, Busam Subaru, Ray St. Clair Roofing and Pet People by Hollywood Feed.
Not the right time to adopt? You can still be a part of this heartwarming holiday outreach by donating to Cincinnati Animal CARE. Your support goes straight to helping the nearly 8,000 animals who come through their shelter every single year.
Day 12 Adoptable Cat: Rascal
Rascal sounds like a dog's name, but don't let that fool you. This wise guy is 100% cat. He's still a bit shaken up after having lost his owner. While still a bit timid, he really is a sweet boy. Rascal is looking for someone to love, and to live life in the slow lane.

Day 11 Adoptable Dog: Robbie
Robbie came to Cincinnati Animal CARE severely underweight. The shelter's medical team has closely monitored his refeeding routine and he's quickly proven to be a super sweet lap dog. He's affectionate, silly, gentle, funny and clearly hasn't let a rough start in life get him down.

Day 10 Adoptable Dogs: Golf & Meatloaf
Golf & Meatloaf could be twins! While they do not need to be adopted together, they do get along quite well and are both very playful. Cincinnati Animal CARE believes Golf would thrive best with a family that has someone who works from home — he loves his people! Meatloaf tells us, "I would do anything for love" just like his namesake, because he LOVES attention. He's a very playful guy who is always ready for an adventure!

Day 9 Adoptable Dog: Snow
Snow was the belle of the ball in his playgroup when we visited Cincinnati Animal CARE! This guy was bouncing all over the play yard, making friends with both other dogs and the humans monitoring the fun. He's about three years old, so still has plenty of energy and will likely do best with an active family who has another dog for him to be BFFs with! Is Snow in your forecast this holiday season?

Day 8 Adoptable Dog: Cranberry
Cranberry is a doll baby. She's what Cincinnati Animal CARE calls a "co-exister" with other dogs where she is fine hanging out with other dogs, but generally will seek affection and play from humans first. She knows sit, and if you have a treat, she'll sit and immediately give you her paw! Cranberry is very affectionate, pretty mellow, but will get the zoomies when she knows it's play time. She also has the cutest little crooked teeth that she shows off when you take her picture!

Day 7 Adoptable Cat: Lynx
While Lynx may not be an actual lynx, this big guy is ready to link up with you this Holiday Season! Lynx arrived at Cincinnati Animal CARE missing fur on the back half of his body, but it's growing back nicely — you can keep each other warm in these cold months! Lynx comes off as timid at first, but before you know it, he will have snuggled up on your lap to take a nap! Can you make his Christmas merry and bright?

Day 6 Adoptable Cat: Mensa
Mensa is what Cincinnati calls a "Phantom Feline." These are the cats that like to stick to the shadows, coming out for a silent night to sneak a peek at Santa — they're basically ninjas. Mensa Ninja likes her solitude, so if you're looking for a low-maintenance pet that will make food magically disappear, visit her at Cincinnati Animal CARE in Northside.

Day 5 Adoptable Dog: Daydream
Daydream earned her name because she has those David Bowie eyes — she's our own Moonage Daydream! Daydream arrived at Cincinnati Animal CARE a little under the weather and sad, but as she's feeling better, her personality is really starting to come out! Daydream is an excited, bouncy girl, who is ready to give kisses to everyone she meets — she does not know a stranger! If you're ready to go on tour with this rock star, come meet Daydream at Cincinnati Animal CARE in Northside.

Day 4 Adoptable Dog: Yarmy
Yarmy has been at Cincinnati Animal CARE since August, and they have no idea how he hasn't been scooped up yet! He is a total catch: I mean you've seen the pictures, the guy is cute! Yarmy loves playing with friends both human and dog, and would love an energetic home to romp around with! Nothing crazy, no hour-long hikes or miles-long walks, but some tug-o-war and fetch would be perfect! Yarmy is pure sweetness — he just loves to love and gets so happy when staff members or volunteers get him out for walks and play time. Yarmy is so sweet it's practically indescribable, but you don't have to take our word for it — visit him at CAC in Northside!

Day 3 Adoptable Cat: Melvin (ADOPTED)
UPDATE: Melvin was adopted 12/4!
If you like BIG cats and you cannot lie, then you cannot deny adopting Melvin! The first thing you notice about Melvin is his beautiful, orange eyes. Next would be his impressive size and long, silky tabby coat. Melvin is a cat that loves to have his belly rubbed, and he will make air biscuits the whole time! If you need to add some floof to your life, Melvin is overflowing with floof, love, and biscuit making!
Day 2 Adoptable Dog: Benajmin (ADOPTED)
UPDATE: Benjamin was adopted 12/8!
Meet Benjamin! He goes by Ben, Benjy, Handsome Hunk, Mister Handsome-Wandsome, and Big Ole Baby Boy to his friends. He recently went on a day trip where his foster said, "He is a very gentle guy who loves to look out the window in the back seat while riding in the car — he didn't even try to climb up to ride shotgun! He is so laid back that he let me take him to the self serve doggie wash for a bath. He didn't mind at all and walked gently on a leash all day."
